I used to run a wholefoods store many moons ago and one essential item was Kikkoman's Tamari Shoyu Sauce. I'd buy a 5 litre tin and decant it into 300ml bottles. Regulars would bring their own bottles and we’d fill them up for them. It all started with an interest in macrobiotic diets popular in the 1970s. This was before those table condiments you can buy today. It's still an essential in my kitchen today and I always buy one for my grown-up children at Christmas
